real-time strategy game (RTS)

“After the Great War, farmers found a plethora of unexploded ordnance, barbed wire, weapons, shrapnel and bullets while ploughing their fields. They called it the (Iron Harvest).”

Iron Harvest is a real-time strategy game (RTS) set in the alternate reality of 1920+, just after the end of the Great War. be continued...

1 game, made by 79 students in 9 teams

over the course of 4 months.

Elemates is a single player adventure shooter with puzzle elements. The player controls two characters who have to work together to reach their goals:

Finishing the trial of Quetzal and facing the wicked God.

The game 'Elemates' was developed by 79 students of the University of Applied Sciences Mittweida (Class of 2015). I was one of five project managers who coordinated the project.

Since 2011 the University of Applied Sciences Mittweida has been offering the program 'Media Informatics and Interactive Entertainment' (Bachelor of Science).

During the fifth semester all the students of this program are required to collectively develop their own video game. The Class of 2015, which I am a part of, created 'Elemates' in nine different teams working in a studio structure. Together with four fellow students I coordinated this project as a project manager.

My personal tasks:

  • project management
  • structuring tasks and deadlines via milestones

MAG 2018

*Page is only available in German!

As an intern at 'Messe Erfurt GmbH' I was part of a small team of three. In cooperation with 'Super Crowd Entertainment' from Hamburg we developed first concepts for the redesign of the former Convention from Hamburg.

With a focus on video games and japanese culture such as anime, manga and cosplay, MAG offers a wide range of entertainment options: An exhibition in two halls, numerous stage shows, talks, panels, a Maid Café and an Anime Cinema. Due to the wide-ranging coverage of topics and its central location in Germany, MAG is intended to appeal to a large audience and brought 10,000 visitors in year one.

Through the cooperation with the German marketing agency '2ndwave' the collaboration with many big German influencers like Paluten, the Rocket Beans, LeFloid and many more was made possible.

My personal tasks:

  • event management
  • coordination of volunteers
  • accommodation of all VIP's (artists & influencers)
  • arrangements for maid café
  • local marketing campaign at Anger Erfurt

beta 2018

*Page is only available in German!

Held annually since 2015, 'beta' is a games conference organized by students who are studying  'Media Informatics and Interactive Entertainment' at the University of Applied Sciences Mittweida.

The event is a platform open to students and the public where video games developed by students are exhibited.

Numerous projects  are displayed every year. Among them are self-developed board- and video games, but especially the final graduation project takes the center stage!

It is a digital game which was developed in the span of only one semester (4 months)  by the entire grade (usually 60 - 80 students)!

In addition, interesting talks and workshops by  different people from within the games industry  make up the program.

In 2018 the conference was organized by me and four other students. We took care of a full day of entertainment, education, marketing, financing and networking.

My personal tasks:

  • event management
  • structuring and organizing the livestream
  • live moderation in the TV-studio
  • planning the aftershowparty
